Lucovsky's Contribution
Lucovsky, who volunteered to work on Microsoft's Windows NT OS in the 1990s, has had a significant impact on the computer industry throughout his career. He led Facebook's effort to develop a new operating system for AR glasses, but in 2021 he departed from the company over issues with platform management. He had hardly been in charge of Google's XR operating system project for two months when he made his most recent statement. Moreover, the shortness of his stay there may have been caused by Google's history of regularly canceling initiatives and perceived lack of commitment.
