Hasbro Selfie Series Action Figures Are Coming Soon

Back in July, Hasbro announced partnering with Formlabs, a 3D printing company, to enable San Diego Comic-Con guests to design a personalized action figure in their own image. Availability was extremely limited, but Hasbro recently announced the day on which anybody may order their own Selfie Series action figures, along with a price that is now unavoidably a little higher. So, collectors can utilize the Hasbro mobile app (available for iOS or Android) to order a personalized Selfie Series figure starting on Friday, September 30. However, considering the personalization required with them, placing an order is more complex than purchasing a new release figure with a few clicks on the Hasbro Pulse website.

How to order custom Selfie Series action figures

Hasbro restricted ordering to its mobile app only. The reason is that anyone interested in a Selfie Series figure must submit headshot photos. And all modern smartphones come with front-facing cameras with sufficient resolution to easily capture the images necessary to generate a 3D model. Furthermore, to complete the ordering process, customers must send at least five headshots, each with the same facial expression, even lighting, and at least one front view and multiple angled images from the left and right. After that, clients must choose an action figure they wish to transform into, as well as a hairstyle that most closely resembles their own from among 50 alternatives, a hair color, and a facial hair style from among 14 options. The options of action figures include a male or female Ghostbuster, a Red Power Ranger, a Pink Power Ranger, Snake Eyes, Scarlett, Leia, Mandalorian, Black Panther, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Black Widow, Red Power Ranger, Pink Power Ranger, Snake Eyes, and an X-Wing pilot. Moreover, Hasbro had set a $60 price point for the Selfie Series figures in July. But now, the firm revealed that they would cost $80 each, with packaging according to the chosen figure type. However, the time it takes to create a 3D model from the given photographs and 3D printing remains the same. Lastly, order-to-delivery duration begins at 45 days, but they can reach up to 60 days as demand rises over time.
