Lenovo Wants to Charge Your Phone and Hold Your Webcam With Your Desk Lamp

The Go Desk Station with Webcam is one of a slew of CES 2015 product announcements. The technology show begins on January 5 in Las Vegas. The event is the Consumer Technology Association's yearly tech showcase. Lenovo has demonstrated the amount of functionality packed into its new Go Desk Station. Lenovo's Go Desk Station is a desk station with nothing but an arm that can extend and retract using a clever cantilever system. Dyson's Lightcycle lamp has a horizontal arm and automatically adjusts color temperature based on the time of day. Lenovo's lamp has an LED strip along an arm that can be rotated up to illuminate someone on a video conference or angled down onto the surface of a desk. It has three LED color temperature settings to help match the time of day. It's intended to help videoconference callers view documents and things in a video without the need to hold them up to the camera. Image: Lenovo[/caption] The Lenovo Go Desk Station's base features a 20W USB-C port, a 65W USB-C port for charging laptops, a pair of USB-A ports, and an HDMI port, in addition to a pop-out wireless Qi charging pad with up to 15W of power delivery. A touch wheel controls light intensity for brightness up to 1,600 lux, and three color temperature choices are available. The lamp's base houses a 15-W Qi-compliant charging pad that pops out to charge a smartphone. A 4K/30fps webcam module with built-in autofocus and auto framing can be attached to the lighting arm's outer end. The lamp will be available in March for $329, and while the included Lenovo Go 4K Pro Webcam can be sold separately for $150, the Go Desk Station will only be available with the webcam.
