Lisa Marie Presley Will Be Honored With A Public Service At Graceland

Lisa Marie Presley will be honored with a public service at her father's estate, Graceland. In a statement to PEOPLE, a spokesperson for her daughter Riley Keough said: "Riley, Harper, Finley, and Priscilla are grateful for the support, well-wishes, and outpouring of love honoring their beloved Lisa Marie. A public memorial service has been arranged on the front lawn of Graceland at 9:00 am on Sunday, January 22 in Memphis." For those unaware, Lisa Marie, 54-year-old Elvis Presley's daughter, passed away on Thursday after being taken to a hospital in Los Angeles following a heart attack. The singer-songwriter is survived by her mother, Priscilla Presley, an actress and entrepreneur, who is 77, and her three children Riley, 33, and twins Finley and Harper Lockwood, 14. Benjamin Keough, Lisa Marie's son, died before her in 2020 when he committed suicide at the age of 27. According to sources, Lisa Marie Presley penned about her final resting place in the song "Light's Out" from her 2003 debut album To Whom It May Concern. She sang, "Someone turned the lights out there in Memphis. Ooh, that's where my family's buried and gone (gone)/Oh yeah/Last time I was there I noticed a space left/Oh, next to them there in Memphis, yeah/In the damn back lawn." Kessler claimed in an Instagram post that he spent time with Lisa Marie at the graveyard of her father and son, which would eventually serve as her final resting place as well. Lastly, instead of sending flowers, the family requests contributions be made to The Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation, a non-profit that supports initiatives for children, the arts, and education in the Memphis and Whitehaven region.
