SWAT officers went to the house on Summit Run Pl. to carry out a warrant issued against Mark Capps for two counts of aggravated kidnapping and two counts of aggravated assault "for holding his 60-year-old wife and his 23-year-old stepdaughter in the home at gunpoint during the night," according to Aaron. They claimed he forced them into the living room "at gunpoint and refused to allow them to leave." They also claimed Capps kept pointing the gun at them and threatened to shoot and kill them as well as "any police that showed up at the house," according to Aaron, if they made any calls. Furthermore, the two victims claimed that after Capps fell asleep, they were able to flee, according to the public affairs director. [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="1500"]Mark J. Authorities obtained an arrest warrant just before 2:00 p.m. and alerted SWAT to the event "due to Capps having access to guns and his violent actions overnight," according to Aaron. Capps "opened the front door" while brandishing a gun after SWAT personnel arrived on the site without him being aware of it. SWAT veteran Kendall Coon instructed Capps to raise his hands. Aaron explained, "Officer Coon deemed that Capps' movements posed an immediate imminent threat and fired."
