Meta takes down photos from Cardi B's Instagram accounts over copyright violations

Meta removed images from Cardi B's and her collaborators' Instagram accounts due to copyright violations. Since November of last year, the 30-year-old American rapper and the Italian artist AleXsandro Palombo have been involved in a court battle over the former's "illegitimately appropriated" of his "Marge Simpson Style Icon" work. Photographer Jora Frantzis and artistic director Kollin Carter broke the terms of use on the Meta community's copyright by putting Palombo's credit alongside Cardi B. Additionally, Palombo filed a lawsuit against the WAP rapper in November 2022, but Meta didn't become involved until Thursday, when it deleted the posts from Frantzis and Carter's accounts and down them down from Cardi B's page. Palombo responded to Meta's actions by declaring: "Cardi B and her collaborators have used my artwork without any authorization, debasing its original meaning and only to amplify their image with a clear commercial purpose that has nothing to do with that path of social awareness that has always characterized my works."
