Meta's flagship metaverse app is too unstable that staff hardly use it

According to internal memos obtained by The Verge, Meta's VR social network Horizon Worlds, the company's flagship "metaverse" tool, has too many quality problems, and even the team designing it doesn't use it very much. Vishal Shah, VP of Metaverse, stated that the team would remain in a "quality lockdown" for the remainder of the year in order to "ensure that we fix our quality gaps and performance concerns before we open up Horizon to additional users." Similar to how Roblox and Minecraft meet, Horizon Environments allows users to create and interact in virtual worlds using legless avatars. It was a crucial project when Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg changed the name of the corporation to Meta; the business spends billions yearly to realize his vision of the metaverse.  Meta's flagship metaverse app is too unstable that staff hardly use it In December of last year, Meta's Quest headgear saw the launching of the multiplayer platform. It reached 300,000 subscribers earlier this year and is slated to offer a web version soon for mobile and desktop devices, however, Vishal's memos hint a web launch may be delayed. Shah stated in a memo this month that since Horizon Worlds' late-last-year launch, "we have seen that the core concept of Horizon Worlds—a synchronous social network where artists can develop fascinating worlds—is solid.  However, feedback from our creators, users, playtesters, and many of us on the team currently indicates that it is too difficult for our community to enjoy Horizon's magic due to the combined weight of papercuts, stability problems, and bugs.  Simply defined, an experience must first be functional and well-created in order to become enjoyable and memorable.

Although Meta has hinted that it is working on creating more lifelike avatars, Fortnite and other non-VR rivals like Horizon have better graphics at the moment. After posting a screenshot of his Horizon avatar to commemorate the rollout of Horizon for Quest users in France and Spain, Zuckerberg himself was recently turned into a meme.  He subsequently shared a second image of a more sophisticated avatar and announced that on October 11th, at the company's annual Connect conference, he would present "significant upgrades to Horizon and avatar visuals."
