A dispute over a golf game allegedly led to a Mississippi man biting off another man's nose. Following the altercation on November 28, Mark Wells, 51, is accused of felony mayhem. According to the police, officers went to a report of an assault in the Hollywood Casino parking lot at around 9:30 p.m. In a news release, the Bay St. Louis Police Department Police Chief Toby Schwartz said, "Upon arrival, a victim was discovered with a disfiguring facial injury." Schwartz added, "The investigation determined that suspect, Mark Curtis Wells, bit the nose off of the victim." Furthermore, Schwartz claims that the Mississippi man and the victim had a disagreement before the attack regarding a golf game at the nearby Bridges Golf Course. According to the press release, "The argument continued throughout the day amongst several of the golf participants until it culminated in the casino parking lot." Moreover, Wells allegedly left the area in a Tesla with a dark hue. However, two days later, he turned himself in, according to reports. He was arrested and sent to the Hancock County jail before being subsequently freed on bail. Lastly, it is unknown if Wells has retained a lawyer who can speak for him.
