Olivia Colman, a friend, unexpectedly called Paul Rudd. A prank call from a trusted friend, Colman, 49, was placed to the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star, 53, as he was participating in the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast show with host Greg James. Additionally, the actress called Rudd and made a lighthearted passive-aggressive comment while posing as a caller with a different accent. "Hiya Paul, I'm a huge fan," she said. "I just wanted to pick your brains. So what would you do if you had a really good mate, like, for over 20 years, and this friend, he doesn't live in England but he's come to England and hasn't told you about it." Rudd was first listening intently and prepared to provide guidance, but as Colman began to discuss specifics of his own visit, he began to worry. She went on, "And then not only has he not told you about it, he's come onto a radio show. What would you do?" Furthermore, Rudd knew the caller was probably talking to him as he took a big breath and began to respond, "oh my God," followed by "oh no." Colman then enquired as to whether he would take offense. "Personally, if it's me? Absolutely not," Rudd responded. "I tend to give everybody the benefit of the doubt." What's more

Paul Rudd was then pleasantly pleased when Greg James pushed Olivia Colman to reveal her true identity and was in awe of how Colman "really can do every accent." The two then discussed their long-standing friendship and the touching account of how they first met back in their early days. "We were doing a play together and Paul used to come and stay on the floor of our rubbish flat in South London and come for Sunday lunch and things," Colman remembered. "Paul was properly in the play and I had about two lines I think." Moreover, Colman knew she had to do something to trick her old buddy when she learned Rudd would be stopping by her favorite morning radio show. The Academy Award winner recalled, "I emailed Greg and said, 'Would it be alright to do a prank on Paul?'  And he said 'Hell yeah.'"
