Spotify Might soon Launch a Platinum Plan with HiFi

Although not much has been said about Spotify HiFi since the company first announced it in February 2021, it now appears that the launch of a better-quality tier called Platinum is soon to come. A former Spotify user contacted 9to5Mac to report that the email urging him to resubscribe suggested a Spotify Platinum plan for $19.99 per month (twice the standard price). In addition, the Platinum plan mentioned Spotify HiFi. However, we are unsure of what each of these features entails. What's more, the email in question also stated that the membership tiers would be available in the next 30 days, indicating that Spotify HiFi will likely launch in a month with the addition of this new Platinum label. Additionally, Apple Music already includes Lossless audio and Spatial Audio functionality in its standard $9.99/£9.99/AU$11.99 subscription. Given this, it's conceivable that Spotify's upper management believes they must provide more to justify a price increase. We won't have to wait long to find out for sure if the information in the resubscribe email is accurate. But Spotify is yet to make an official announcement. What about the price?

The lossless, CD-quality audio that Spotify HiFi has promised would put it more on par with services like Apple Music and Tidal, although it's unclear how much additional audio fidelity the ordinary Spotify customer will value. Besides, it will be difficult to convince people to spend twice as much each month, if the cost ends up being that way. But, including some more features will definitely make the offer more enticing. Moreover, it is unclear exactly what Library Pro, Playlist Pro, and the other features are, but they undoubtedly allude to added capabilities of some sort. On another note, Spotify is increasing its reach into podcasts and audiobooks in recent years as it tries to draw in more monthly subscribers. Additionally, the streaming service's finances would improve greatly if existing or new members were to double the standard monthly fee. Lastly, the launch of Spotify HiFi has been a mystery even to Spotify, but it appears that question will soon have an answer. However, the next query that arises is - how many people will actually pay for it?
