The CEO of Apple claims that augmented reality "may be even better than the real world"

During media appearances, where Cook and his colleagues are forced to meticulously craft their whole responses before the words leave their lips, this crucial ability—a must-have for Apple executives—really shines. Take the recent interview Cook had with GQ. In a long and in-depth interview with the magazine, Apple's top executive is able to discuss augmented reality (AR) without revealing that the business is (almost likely) ready to introduce a mixed-reality headgear. The idea that you could overlay the physical world with items from the digital world might dramatically improve people's communication and connection, according to Apple's boss. AR overlays digital features on a real-world view. Even further, Cook asserts that an augmented reality setting "may be even better than just the real world — to overlay the virtual world on top of it might be an even greater world." According to GQ, Cook previously criticized the concept of developing smart spectacles akin to Google Glass, calling the company's initiative "not a wise move" since "people would not really want to wear them." Cook also said: "We don't think it's going to happen." Cook revealed that former Apple CEO Steve Jobs advised him to be open to altering your mind "if presented with something new that suggests you were incorrect," which is likely the closest thing to a confession that Apple has been working hard on developing a mixed-reality headset. Cook, who was named CEO in 2011, stated that the decision to introduce a new product is always based on whether his executive team believes it would add anything novel to the market. According to recent reports, the headset's development process was challenging and some former and present team members questioned its viability. One of the worries is that, with the projected $3,000 price tag, the majority of Apple users may find it difficult to make the purchase, particularly given the present economic climate. Few will, though, bet on it failing because of Apple's formidable marketing apparatus.
