Updated specs for the purported Google Tensor G3: The Pixel 8 lacks an Xclipse GPU

Photo Credit: Gizchina.com The claimed specifications of the Google Tensor G3 have been clarified by a recent leak. It included an Arm Mali G715-MP8 GPU and nine CPU cores (1x Cortex-X3, 4x Cortex-A715, 4x Cortex-A510). It will be produced on Samsung's 4LPP node and released later this year in conjunction with the Pixel 8 series. The Google Tensor G3, which is built on the Exynos 2400, hasn't been the subject of as many rumors as the Exynos 2400. It was formerly reported to have a tri-cluster CPU with four Cortex-A715 (2.65 GHz), four Cortex-A510 (2.1 GHz), and one Cortex-X3 (3.09 GHz) core. That configuration has been updated by a fresh leak from Twitter leaker @tech_reve. Google Pixel 8 Series in the works: Tipped to be powered by Tensor G3 chipset - Smartprix Photo Credit: Smartprix On some clusters, Google has allegedly increased the clock speeds of the Tensor G3. Now, the Cortex-A715 will run at 2.6 GHz, the Cortex-X3 at 3.3 GHz, and the Cortex-A510 at 2.2-2.3 GHz. It will use an off-the-shelf Arm Mali-G715 MP8, which is a little disappointing because the RDNA-based Xclipse 920, the GPU used on the Exynos 2200, was predicted to be the GPU for this device in the prior rumor about its features. The Tensor G3 will outperform the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, according to the leaker. Given how powerful Qualcomm's chip is, that seems a little overly optimistic. To match the Qualcomm flagship's performance, much less outperform it, would be an accomplishment for the Tensor G3. However, this should be welcome news for those looking to purchase the Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro, as they can now use their devices without concern for performance. Samsung states that since we last seen it in operation in 2022 (Exynos 2200/Snapdragon 8 Gen 1), it has considerably improved. The performance of the Tensor G3 will reveal whether the assertion is accurate and provide a general notion of what to anticipate from the Exynos 2400, which will be produced on the 4LPP+ node. It might also demonstrate the capabilities of the "new" Exynos 2200 model found in the Galaxy S23 FE.
