Crime Scene: The Texas Killing Fields, a true crime documentary on Netflix, is one of the top 10 shows on the service, thus it should not be missed at all. The Texas Killing Fields in League City, Texas, is a plot of ground where the bodies of four unsolved murder victims of women were discovered. Three episodes make up the docuseries. The Texas Killing Fields are a 25-acre piece of land located between Houston and Galveston on Interstate 45. Between 1971 and 2006, more than 30 bodies were discovered in the vicinity, earning the place the rather unflattering moniker. The majority of the persons whose bones were discovered on the property were young girls or women in their 20s. Robert Abel, though, is the person who has been on everyone's mind who has watched the program and read about the case. According to Newsweek, the man is connected to the murders of four women but was never found guilty. The first of the four women was discovered in 1984, and the 23-year-old Heidi Fye's bones were discovered on the same plot of property where Laura Miller's were discovered two years later. Another body was discovered while Miller's body was still missing; it wasn't until years later that it was recognized as Audrey Lee Cook, a mechanic who had been last seen alive in 1985. In the same location, a fourth body was discovered in 1991, six years later, and in 2019 Donna Gonsoulin Prudhomme was determined to be the deceased. Who is Robert Abel and where is he now? Abel, a former NASA engineer, was implicated in the killings and disappearances of numerous young women. Abel was a suspect since he was the owner of the property near to where the victims were discovered. He was never detained, though, because there was never enough proof to convict him. This was true despite the fact that Abel was listed in an affidavit as a serial sexual offender who had characteristics of madness that are frequently observed in serial murders. The police made numerous attempts to implicate Abel—his home was searched for evidence, and the investigators on the case repeatedly interviewed him—but in vain. Speaking to the media, Abel discussed how this has impacted him. He declared himself to be a man with a spotless record who had never before been afoul of the law. "My life has been devastated, and my reputation has been ruined... I didn't murder any of those young women. I couldn't kill; I wouldn't know how. Abel passed away in 2005 at the age of 65 after being struck by a train while riding a golf cart. He died, but it is still unclear whether it was intentional or an accident.
