Wu Chen, who was detained by Miami police after being accused of killing four people in a marijuana cultivation business in Oklahoma, is now facing first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Before the fatal shot on November 20, according to the prosecution, the arrested individual wanted the $300,000 he had put into the plan. In an affidavit, Assistant District Attorney Austin Murrey stated that witnesses to the murders "testimony that (Wu) requested $300,000 be turned up to him by other employees of the marijuana company, as a return of a portion of his "investment" in the enterprise." Murrey continues, "The mass murder was provoked by the fact that it could not be turned up at a moment's notice. The authorities reacted to a hostage situation at the 10-acre site in Northwest Oklahoma City, but by the time they got there, three men and one lady, all Chinese nationals, had already passed away. Yi Fei Lin, a lone survivor, was also airlifted from the scene to an Oklahoma City hospital with injuries. According to ABC, the victims were Quirong Lin, Chen He Chun, Chen He Qiang, and Fang Hui Lee.Wu Chen “The suspect held multiple people inside the garage at gunpoint,” Agent Phillip Ott, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation wrote. “The suspect demanded $300,000 within the next half hour or he was going to kill everyone in the garage." The investigators found that Chen reportedly entered the facility around 5.45 pm, while several employees were still on site. He is said to have spent a “significant amount of time” before the killing happened. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation earlier established that the homicides did not ‘appear to be a random incident.’ According to a statement from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the suspect was later taken into custody in Miami Beach, Florida, on November 22, after a tag reader noticed the vehicle he was driving and connected it to an active arrest warrant from Oklahoma. On Wednesday, December 7, Chen is scheduled to appear before the court, but it's not clear if he has a lawyer. As indicated previously, according to NBC News, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs was investigating the legality of the grow operation's active medicinal marijuana license. It was impossible to get in touch with anyone at the business. According to reports, a commercial real estate agent who is in charge of the land's sale listing claimed to know nothing about the owner.
