Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 to launch in August with Leica quad-cameras

Image credit : gHacks Samsung's release of the Galaxy Z Fold5 has spurred its competitors to talk about their upcoming large foldable smartphones. OnePlus made a not-so-subtle tweet about their forthcoming Galaxy Z Fold5 competitor named 'Open.' Oppo also teased its next foldable device, the Find N3, expected to be unveiled later this year.

Following suit, Xiaomi has started teasing the MIX Fold 3, which is a successor to the incredibly slim MIX Fold 2. The latter measures 5.4 mm in thickness when opened and 11.2 mm when closed, undercutting the Galaxy Z Fold5 by more than 10% in both cases. The MIX Fold 3 also appears to be impressively slim, but Xiaomi seems to be focusing on highlighting the device's camera capabilities. Additionally, the MIX Fold 3 will introduce Xiaomi's new micro OIS motors, ultra-slim high refractive lenses, and compact periscope modules. Xiaomi has confirmed that the MIX Fold 3 will be launched next month. However, it is rumored to be exclusively available in China, despite Lei Jun mentioning it on his global Twitter account.
