Amazon Clinic Expands to Treat Coughs, Colds, and Flu

Amazon has added a new service to its online healthcare platform, Amazon Clinic. Now, you can get help for common illnesses like coughs, colds, and the flu.

How to Access Amazon Clinic?

  • To use this service, go to Amazon Clinic on your computer or phone.
  • Click on "Cough, cold, and flu" to find healthcare providers who can assist you.
  • You can see how much it will cost and how quickly they'll respond.
  • Once you pick a provider, you'll need to answer some questions about your symptoms and health history.
  • After that, you'll connect with a licensed clinician via message or video call. They may give you a prescription, which you can fill at Amazon Pharmacy or another pharmacy.
Dr Nworah Ayogu, Amazon Clinic's chief medical officer, says it's crucial to get help quickly when you have the flu or a similar condition. By connecting with a healthcare provider fast, you can find the right care in minutes or hours, not days or weeks. Amazon Clinic doesn't provide medical care itself. Instead, it links you with telemedicine partners. This service is available in all 50 states and Washington, DC, and can assist with more than 35 common health issues, such as asthma and pinkeye. This announcement is part of Amazon's ongoing efforts to enter the healthcare industry. They've tried various healthcare-related projects, like Amazon Care and the acquisition of OneMedical. They also started Amazon Pharmacy after buying PillPack and explored employee healthcare with JP Morgan and Berkshire Hathaway, though that project ended in 2021.
