Filmmakers and artists can celebrate because Blackmagic Design, the developer of the well-known video editing program DaVinci Resolve, has officially announced that the iPad will soon support the program. By the end of 2022, iPad users will be able to utilize both the free DaVinci Resolve version and the premium DaVinci Resolve Studio ($295 on PC). Apple announced earlier this week that support for DaVinci Resolve would be coming, but at the time, the only information we had to go on was screenshots of the DaVinci Resolve software running on a new iPad Pro; neither pricing nor feature information was mentioned in Apple's announcements. According to Blackmagic Design, the iPad edition of DaVinci Resolve 18 will be able to open and create the same standard DaVinci Resolve project files as the desktop version and is optimized for Apple Pencil and MultiTouch.  Finally, Davinci Resolve Will Be Available on the iPad Users may easily import clips from the iPad Pro's internal storage and Photos library, as well as from externally connected iCloud and USB-C devices. H.264, H.265, Apple ProRes, and Blackmagic RAW are among the file formats that are supported.  The inclusion of Blackmagic Cloud will enable remote project collaboration for creators. In Q4 2022, DaVinci Resolve for iPad will be accessible for no cost via the Apple App Store, with an upgrade to DaVinci Resolve Studio for iPad being sold as an in-app purchase.  There is no information yet on the price of the upgrade or the compatibility of DaVinci Resolve for iPad with older iPad models that don't use M-series processors.
