Site names and favicons are displayed higher in search results to make it easier to quickly recognize the website associated with each result. Prior to this upgrade, search results would include URLs, making it challenging to identify which websites were being referred to. Google made the following comment in the release: "This updated label and its prominent location continues to fulfill our high standards for being distinguished from search results and builds on our prior efforts to make information about paid content apparent."
