Google is releasing a major upgrade to its Find My Device app that will completely redesign the app's look and feel. When opened, the app now brings devices to the front and center, and it finally includes a dark mode, which many users will undoubtedly appreciate. The new design aligns the app with Android's recent Material Design, which debuted as Material You with Android 12 and was improved with Android 13.
Google's new unified design language, Material You, debuted with Android 12. Unlike previous rigid design paradigms, Material You extracts its colors from the part of your phone over which you have the most control. Because it is likely the most personalized design language available, there are numerous technical details to explore.
Google has released the latest version of Android, which will enable users to track their device even when it is inactive. Most importantly, the last known location of the device will be encrypted. The company also claims that this update will enable "enhanced tracking" in the future.

The current version of the Find My Device app on the Google Play Store is 2.4.065-3, with the updated UI version being 2.5.001. If you don't want to wait for the update to appear in the Play Store, you can always get it from third-party host APK Mirror.
The Find My Device app from Google only detects phones that are linked to a Google account. It cannot assist people in locating lost or stolen phones, but the company is striving to broaden its reach. Support for encrypted last-known-location reports for Android phones was added to the Play Store in December 2022.
