Whether it's an outdated phone, a disused computer, or a device used by multiple individuals, you might wish to eliminate them from your Spotify account to enhance control and security. This guide will walk you through the process of removing a device from your Spotify account.

1. Log Out on the Device

Logging out of your Spotify account is a straightforward process, but it requires access to the specific device. We'll illustrate this procedure using both the web and mobile applications. On Mobile Devices: If you're using the Spotify mobile app, adhere to the following steps:
  • Launch the Spotify app on your Android or iOS device and tap the gear icon located in the upper right corner.
  • Within the Spotify settings screen, navigate to the Other section and tap "Log out."
That's it – you've successfully signed out of your Spotify account. This method can be particularly handy when you've reached the device limit and wish to remove someone from your Spotify account. • Once the player is open, click on the Profile icon situated in the upper right corner, and then choose "Log out" from the drop-down menu.

Subsequently, Spotify will display the roster of devices linked to your account. To eliminate a device, click on the icon with three dots adjacent to it and opt for "Forget device." For mobile devices on Spotify, initiate the app, tap on the icon resembling "Settings," and then select "Connect to a device." Afterward, tap the three-dot icon beside the device's name and tap "Forget device."

3. Use Spotify's Remove Access Feature

Unlike the previously explained technique, this approach allows you to revoke access from applications that possess unnecessary privileges to your Spotify account. Follow the subsequent steps:
  • Launch the Spotify web player on your Windows or Mac computer and locate the Profile icon situated in the upper right corner.
  • From the ensuing drop-down menu, choose "Account."
  • This action will direct you to the overview page of your Spotify account.
  • Proceed to scroll down, and beneath the section labeled "Sign out everywhere," click on the option "Go to your apps page."
  • Within the "Manage Apps" page, select the "Remove Access" button positioned next to the apps from which you wish to disconnect your Spotify account.
By completing these steps, you have effectively withdrawn access to your Spotify account, thereby revoking the designated devices' privileges. [caption id="attachment_192089" align="aligncenter" width="1000"]Spotify Image credit : Business Insider[/caption]

4. Sign Out Everywhere

If you've been a long-term user of Spotify, you probably have connected your account to numerous devices throughout the years. If this is the case, it could be more convenient to opt for signing out from all devices collectively rather than removing each undesired device individually. To initiate the sign-out process, navigate to the Spotify website, where you'll log in to your account. Subsequently, click on your profile icon and access the "Account" section. Upon reaching the bottom of the page, you'll find the option to "Sign out everywhere." By selecting this option, Spotify will proceed to log you out from your account on all devices.
