How To Use Samsung TV With Android Phone
SmartThings is already built into Samsung Galaxy phones and computers. It is the company's official way for you to use your phone to handle smart home devices. If you have more than one Android phone, you can use the link to get the SmartThings app on all of them. Use the steps below to connect your Samsung TV to SmartThings after you've installed it.- On your phone, open SmartThings. Ensure your phone and Samsung TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Tap the '+' icon in the top right spot. Choose "Add device."
- Tap "Scan" to see what's around. The app might ask you to sign in with the information for your Samsung account.
- Make sure your Samsung smart TV is turned on and ready to connect to your phone.
- Tap on your Samsung TV when it comes up. You may get a message on your Samsung TV telling you to let your phone connect to the TV. Choose Yes. On your Samsung TV, you may also see a PIN. Enter the same code on your phone to finish the process of pairing.
- Start up the SmartThings app again and look under the Devices tab to see if your Samsung TV is there. You can see what's playing on it right now. Tap it to see what else you can do.
- Tap the bottom Remote button.
How To Use Samsung TV With iPhone
The Samsung SmartThings app can also be used on an iPhone or iPad. It's great that the same services are being offered on different platforms.- Use your iPhone or iPad to open the App Store.
- Find SmartThing on your phone and open the app. Start the app.
- Give it the rights it needs to find nearby devices, like your Samsung smart TV.
- Go to the Devices tab (or tap + at the top) and tap Add device. Use the information for your Samsung account to sign in.
- Look for gadgets in the area. Tap on your Samsung smart TV when it comes up. Enter the PIN that your TV shows you.
- If your smart TV isn't on the list, scroll down to the TV menu and choose your Tizen TV from the next menu to start the setup process.
- Tap on your smart TV once it shows up in the app. Choose Remote Control at the bottom to get your virtual remote. The user interface and remote functions are the same as before.
Control Samsung TV with Smartthings Widgets
- Long-press the home screen of your Android phone and choose Widgets.
- Go to SmartThings and add a Scene app to the home screen.
- Name it, choose a picture, and then tap Actions.
- Tap on your Samsung TV after you choose Control Devices. Press Next.
- Tap the radio button next to "Turn the Samsung TV on or off" to set other options.
- Tap on Done.
