It's Possible That A Tesla Model 3 Test Mule Was Discovered In Hiding

A previously unseen variant of Tesla's updated Model 3, which is expected to debut in the summer of 2023, may be lurking in plain sight. This is because the vehicle was observed in a Californian parking lot. The vehicle was extensively disguised, as would be anticipated of a prototype. In terms of both exterior design and interior design, Tesla's Model 3, the company's best-selling vehicle, has been showing signs of aging. Not only is Tesla said to be considering a Project Highland design update, but a working engineering prototype of the upcoming 2023 Model 3 variant may already be driving around California. Or, more specifically, its parking garages, as a Model 3 with Tesla license plates was recently sighted there, covered in a thick coating of camouflage as is customary during the testing phase. Even while Tesla might be experimenting with a variety of different things with the Model 3, there is a potential that the stealthy car could in fact be an early model of the 2023 Model 3 given recent reports that the design update will go into mass production in two quarters. [caption id="attachment_69095" align="aligncenter" width="1200"]Tesla Model 3 (image: omg_tesla/Twitter)[/caption] The suspected side cameras that are supposed to cover blind spots for Tesla's self-driving system, which now solely relies on its Vision set of cameras and forgoes LiDAR, were spotted by some online sleuths immediately above the headlights on the side of the car. Others have seen a Model Y vibe in the silhouette line, although this is just educated speculation considering how well-camouflaged the Model 3 is in this scene. In any event, Tesla is reportedly overhauling the Model 3 thoroughly in addition to wanting to update the design, as it did with the Model S, in order to lower production costs. Until now, Tesla's highly effective business strategy has been to reduce the number of parts required to make a vehicle, eliminate duplication, and concentrate on high-value features that its buyers love the most, such as large, high-resolution displays or a sophisticated self-driving option. This has led to the best profit margins in the industry, and rumors suggest that the Model 3 redesign will continue this trend by eliminating any unnecessary components or design lines and turning the display console into the focal point of the interior, just as it did with the Model S update last year by removing all knobs and buttons. The covert appearance of the camouflaged Model 3 may be an oblique hint that a new version of Tesla's electric sedan may be in the works for sale next year even though any potential inside upgrades are not immediately obvious and may come at a later time.
