Leaks Show Australia and France Price Increase for the Galaxy S23 Series

Following closely on the heels of a similar rumor posted regarding the potential Australian prices for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra is a purported Samsung Galaxy S23 series price leak for France. Despite the state of the economy, both sets of data show significant price increases for those markets over the Galaxy S22 series. There have already been many Samsung Galaxy S23 price leaks, including one for the US market and another for the South Korean market. Two more have since surfaced: @BillbilKun has provided what are allegedly the official Samsung Galaxy S23 series prices for France, and 9To5Google claims to have information about the Australian pricing for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. • AU$1,350 (US$948) for the Samsung Galaxy S23 with 128 GB of storage.
• AU$1,450 ($1,018) for the Samsung Galaxy S23 with 256 GB of storage
• Price of the Samsung Galaxy S23+ at launch: $1,650 AUD (1,159 USD)
• Price of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra at launch: $1,950 AUD (1,369 USD).

According to the source, this represents an average price increase of about U$100 (US$70) compared to the corresponding S22 counterparts, which is to be expected from Samsung for a new flagship range despite the fragile state of the world economy. Similar conclusions can be drawn from the purportedly official Galaxy S23 prices for France:

• €959 (or $1,042) for the Samsung Galaxy S23 with 128 GB of storage
• €1,019 (US$1,107) for the Samsung Galaxy S23 with 256 GB of storage
• 256 GB storage for the Samsung Galaxy S23+ costs €1,219 (US$1,324).
• 512 GB storage for the Samsung Galaxy S23+ costs €1,339 (US$1,455).
• 256 GB of storage for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra costs €1,419 (US$1,542).
• Price of the 512 GB Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra in euros is $1,599 ($1,737).
• €1,839 (US$1,998) for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra with 1 TB of storage

Although smartphone prices are typically much higher in Europe than they are in the US market due to taxes, it is still unsettling to see how high these alleged official prices for France go.
