Bad Boys 4 is official. Franchise actors Martin Lawrence and Will Smith announced the information on their individual Instagram profiles on Tuesday by posting the same video with the caption, "IT'S ABOUT THAT TIME!"
Additionally, Smith, 54, recorded himself as he drove to Lawrence's house telling viewers that he was going to deliver a "hint" as to what his big announcement was before "Shake Ya Tailfeather" by Nelly, Diddy, and Murphy Lee, from the Bad Boys II album, started playing via the speakers. Smith said to the camera, "I wish I was you not knowing what I'm about to show me."
When Smith arrived at his co-star Lawrence's house, the 57-year-old actor smiled and remarked, "It's about that time?" And then Smith turned the camera to them both after the two had embraced and cheered, and confirmed, "It's about that time!" He said, "It's official, y'all. Bad boys for life, baby!"
Furthermore, Smith appeared to corroborate the title of the picture by holding up four fingers, but Lawrence quickly reminded his pal that the third movie was titled
Bad Boys for Life.
"We shouldn't have called it that, though. "The 3 was the 'e,'" Smith said, adding, "But this is
Bad Boys 4. It's official!"

What's more
The development follows Martin Lawrence's declaration that he's "got one more" installment in the works, "at least" of the action-comedy series in a July 2022 interview with
Ebony magazine.

On another note,
Bad Boys from 1995 was the franchise's debut film, and Will Smith has since worked on two of the sequels. In addition, the three movies brought in more than $840 million worldwide.
Moreover, the announcement of the fourth film follows Smith's newsworthy face-slapping of Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards in March 2022.
Ebony claimed that Lawrence "dismiss(ed) speculation" that the next
Bad Boys was postponed due to the incident.
