According to reports, the Montgomery County Public Schools, one of the major school districts in the US, has the largest fleet of electric school buses in the entire nation.
In addition to installing electric infrastructure at one of its transportation hubs, the first 25 electric buses were delivered last year. They have since expanded their fleet with 61 more electric buses.
This is a component of the Montgomery County Public Schools' plan to switch from diesel to electric school buses by the year 2025, which calls for 326 buses. It will have an entirely electric school bus fleet in ten years.
At Walter Johnson High School in Bethesda, Highland Electric Fleets participated in a ribbon-cutting event.
For school districts, Highland Electric Fleets design and coordinate initiatives involving electric school buses. Additionally, they develop a subscription program that covers upgrades to the depot, buses, and chargers.
