The American workforce is being overtaken by the "quiet quitting" trend as workers' priorities shift from putting in extra hours to seeking a better work-life balance. And Minnesota appears to be a really popular state for this idea.
To determine the top 10 states for silent resigning, the organization School Authority tracked more than 220,000 tweets over the previous 90 days on Twitter. Minnesota ranked fifth among these states.
Here's the top 10:
- Oregon
- Washington
- Colorado
- Massachusetts
- Minnesota
- New York
- Illinois
- Maine
- Idaho
- Connecticut
When employees decide to stop going above and above and start doing the bare minimum at work since the payoff may not always be worth it, this phenomenon is known as the quiet quitting phenomenon.
Quiet quitting is now frequently moving away from the "hustle culture," which prioritizes work over all else and toward the concept of limits and a life outside of work. Employees who choose to create stronger limits at work by not working on the weekend or late into the night to complete a task or responding to messages outside of regular business hours are also considered quiet quitters, according to FOX Business.
