Is the sound of a floppy disk drive still fresh in...
Still, doubts remain over the Claw's commercial potential despite its remarkable hardware. Initial sales may be hampered by the late reveal and almost instantaneous launch, which leaves little opportunity for pre-order marketing. Furthermore, the Claw's $699 starting price puts it at a higher price point than other models, casting doubt on its value proposition.
In addition, the Claw's design is similar to that of other handheld devices, such as the Lenovo Legion Go and Steam Deck, which may mean that it lacks the "wow factor" necessary to differentiate itself in a crowded market. This, together with its higher price tag, may deter prospective customers from looking for a more distinctive and affordable choice.
The Claw is nevertheless a technically remarkable introduction to the PC portable market despite these reservations. Its ambitious hardware could result in very good gaming experiences. It will take time to see if the Claw can carve out a unique place in this rapidly expanding market, despite facing formidable competition from established players and possible marketing gaffes.
