All smartphone batteries, including the one in the iPhone, must be simple to replace, according to new
EU regulations.
The European Parliament has endorsed new regulations for battery sustainability. The most significant change is the need that batteries in portable devices now include user-replaceable parts.
It lays forth stricter guidelines for recycling effectiveness, disposal, and other issues. That applies to all portable devices, including phones. Does this imply that the era of bulky handsets and pop-open battery doors will return? Even if it doesn't, it will still create a major stir.

It will be interesting to observe how this develops and what devices the rule covers. Without a shift in design philosophy, it will be tougher to make tablets and phones "easily removable." The most expensive electronics will be the less expensive ones because many are currently thrown away. For instance, no more Tiles with single-use batteries.
What are EU Rules?
According to the new regulations, users—like you and me—should be able to
remove and replace the batteries in their devices. But it's unlikely that this will significantly alter how our phones look from the outside. The adjustments will instead mostly occur internally.
A battery is deemed "readily removable" by the EU if it can be removed with tools that are readily accessible in the marketplace and "without requiring the use of specialized tools unless provided free of charge with the product, proprietary tools, thermal energy, or solvents to disassemble the product."

Batteries Replacement for Appliances
Even though the Pro models lack such amenities, the iPhone 14 already has a back opening. My interpretation of this is that the largest challenge to complying with these new requirements may be addressing Apple's extensive use of adhesive in sealing the battery as well as the frame and body for waterproofing, as per reports.
However, Apple's in-store specialists can change batteries more quickly—in minutes rather than hours—while still likely charging the same for a new device, it benefits from simpler battery replacement procedures. Additionally, it is vital for the world and consumers alike.
With the exception of the gadget manufacturers that rely on you purchasing all those unnecessary device replacements, because their batteries died, this is generally excellent news for everyone. Even though we don't carry spare batteries as we used to with those old Nokias, a portable, rechargeable battery pack is still simple to use and carry.
