A prototype for Lamborghini's Aventador replacement has been discovered once more, and it contains several elements that will appear on the final product. The Aventador has been around for more than ten years, and Lamborghini debuted the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimate last summer as the car's final iteration. Since the successor is anticipated to begin selling in 2023, a reveal at the end of this year or the beginning of the following one seems most plausible.
The successor to the Aventador eschews the first model's relatively simple lines in favor of a busier, almost brutish, appearance. The Terzo Millennio concept from 2017 appears to have had an influence, particularly on the lights, which incorporate
Lamborghini's Y design in the taillights. In contrast, the headlights seem to have a split design, similar to what we have seen on the Terzo Millennio.
Lamborghini is employing the Aventador's carbon-fiber tub for the replacement because the proportions are comparable to the Aventador, especially concerning the A-pillar and roofline. Given the expenditure for a completely new automotive powertrain, this makes sense.
According to Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann, the V-12 will be a new engine, the third in the company's history, and will be used in a plug-in hybrid powertrain. In addition, it may have a smaller displacement to cut emissions than the existing 6.5-liter V-12, although it will still be naturally aspirated.
According to Maurizio Reggiani, former head of R&D at Lamborghini Aventador, the biggest issue with the hybrid component is keeping weight low. Even the most minor alternatives are anticipated to increase curb weight by several hundred pounds. Another problem is considering prospective emissions regulations in some nations or regions that might demand a minimum electric range.
In addition to the engine, the car should have all-wheel drive, all-wheel steering, and active aerodynamics. Our photographer said that the prototype's back wing was an active component.
