Open the Camera app on your
Samsung Galaxy phone to scan a QR code. Make sure "Scan QR Codes" is turned on in the camera settings and that the camera is in photo mode. A QR code from an existing photo can also be scanned.
Do you want to read a QR code? If so, all you really need is your Samsung phone. The built-in tools on your phone can be used to scan these codes. This concise guide explains two alternative scanning techniques.
Scan a QR Code with the Samsung phone's camera app. Use the Camera app on your Samsung phone to scan the code that is printed on a surface or on a screen. Similar to how you would take a conventional picture, this works.
- Open the Camera app on your phone to get started. To make sure you're in photo mode hit "Photo" at the bottom of the app.
- The QR code feature of the Camera app will now be enabled. To accomplish it, tap the gear symbol in the upper-left corner of your screen.
- On the "Camera Settings" page, enable "Scan QR Codes." To return to the viewfinder screen, press the back arrow icon in the top-left corner of the screen.
- The time has come for you to scan your QR code. The code may be read by your phone by simply pointing the camera at it.
- On your screen, you'll see what's in the QR code. Tap "Show Options" to see the options related to the code you just scanned.
- For instance, if you scanned a QR code for a web address, your menu would have a choice to access that page.
Use Your Gallery App to Scan a QR Code The procedures below should be followed in order to scan a QR code that has been saved in your Gallery.
- Pull down twice from the screen's top of your phone first. Tap the "Scan QR Code" tile in the Quick Settings menu.
- If this tile isn't visible, swipe left on the other tiles to reveal other choices.
- Tap the gallery icon on the "Find a QR Code" page.
- The gallery view on your phone will launch. Locate and tap the QR code picture you wish to scan in this area.
- The QR code scanning feature will display your picture. Start scanning it by tapping "Done."
- The content of the QR code will appear on your screen.
- You're now ready to go.
On an Android phone, you can also read QR codes using Google Assistant and Google Lens. Additionally, both
Samsung and non-Samsung phones can use these functionalities.
