Samsung confirms Galaxy Watch 6 may roll out later this year with Apple Watch's remarkable health feature

Image credit : PhoneArena This week, Samsung made an official announcement confirming that the Galaxy Watch 6, which would be the first wearable to include support for AFib notifications, will be released later this year. With the release of the One UI Watch 5, Samsung said today that it will begin rolling out support for irregular heartbeat notifications in 13 markets across the world later this year. The Galaxy Watch 5, Galaxy Watch 4, and their variants will ultimately receive the new software, which is now under beta testing. The Galaxy Watch's irregular heartbeat notifications will monitor your vitals for indications of atrial fibrillation (AFib), a common heart ailment that over time may cause more serious issues. Fitbit and other brands also offer this feature on their goods, but Samsung is also prepared to provide passive notifications on Galaxy Watch devices at this time. The on-demand ECG checks on the watch, which also try to detect the same issue, employ a lot of the same hardware as this new capabilities. This new capability will first appear on brand-new hardware, though, before being made available on current Galaxy Watch models.
The Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification feature will first be available on the upcoming Galaxy Watch devices later this year, as part of the new One UI 5 Watch and later expanded to previous editions.
This announcement from Samsung confirms that "upcoming Galaxy Watch devices" would be the first to utilize this new function when it launches "later this year." This is a reference to the Galaxy Watch 6 series, which has recently been the subject of numerous leaks.
