Taking Care of an Airfryer - What You Need To Know?

Airfryer is used for making things crispy without much oil consumption but some people, maybe out of habit, add oil as it adds flavor and the concern of food sticking to the basket. If you want to use oil in the air fryer, there are some dos and don'ts to be followed.
  • Do not use too much oil as it splatters which gives out smoke.
  • Do not use the cooking spray as it removes the coating and after which you will be forced to use more oil or else it will not work. The purpose of the air fryer is lost.
According to Real Simple, “PAM and her ilk are the enemies of nonstick cookware, due to the presence of an emulsifying agent called lecithin, lecithin will cook onto the surface of your pan, build up, and become nearly impossible to remove.”  Airfryer Anolon states that cooking sprays burn, “at lower temperatures and will damage the non-stick coating of your product.”  “All of that will turn your nonstick pan into a very sticky one; using a cooking spray can even void the warranty of certain brands.” The interior of the air fryer has a nonstick coating and still, you have the feeling that the food may stick to the basket, you can use pure oil or put the food in another bowl with a little oil coating as there will be no splattering and also the food will not stick to the basket.
