Telegram Adds New Blockchain-Related Features to the Platform, Including an Auto-Delete Timer and a Phone Number Auction

Users must use their phone numbers to log in to messaging apps like Telegram. This is a crucial prerequisite so that the platform can validate the owner's legitimacy. However, Telegram seems to be upending the signup process by confirming that future procedures will require users to use the service even if they do not have a SIM card. For Telegram no SIM signups, the blockchain-powered phone number will be made available. A blockchain-based network based on TON allows users to purchase "unique" usernames from Telegram through a special auction, claims XDA Developers.

You will need the blockchain-powered numbers as your login credentials to create a Telegram account. Of course, there is a catch to this new feature: in order to obtain and register the anonymous number on Telegram, you must first buy it. For the tiny fee customers must pay, this function is crucial for those who are concerned about their privacy when utilizing phone numbers. The latest Telegram version will allow users to create their own QR code for profile sharing. Anyone on the platform can scan it. This makes it easier to add everyone to your contact list and eliminates the requirement that someone first know your phone number.
