This new legal action against the well-known social media site is a move against its data access as the Federal Communications Commission continues to push for TikTok's ban in the United States.
It identifies ByteDance, the parent firm of TikTok, as the party responsible for the alleged improper handling of the data and information of users based in the US who have access to the aforementioned content.
Due to TikTok's data access to American users, which may have an impact on and pose a risk to political operations in the US, the FCC Commissioner intends to impose a ban.
One of the five leaders of the regulatory body, FCC Commissioner Brandon Carr, was quoted by Axios as saying that TikTok should not be banned again in the US because of its continuous access to data and information.

Although the FCC has expressed its worries about TikTok, it is unable to take direct action against the company without Congress. Carr's worries revolve around the TikTok ban as the sole option moving forward, particularly in terms of protecting the data and information of US content creators and regular TikTok viewers.
There are up to 200 million downloads and users of the renowned short phrase social media in the United States alone, with a focus on its function as an information infrastructure.
Although TikTok's access to US data has been the subject of reports in recent weeks and months, nothing has changed in a noticeable way since it moved to Oracle's data centers.
