A lady was forced to pay £35,000 to a man who victimized her sexually for ten years. The decision follows a judicial struggle over Irma Barnett's will, the late mother of Kirsty Easthope. Irma left Kirsty her £300,000 property in a will she executed in 2000. Additionally, it specified that her 83-year-old live-in partner Arthur Hepple might continue to reside there for the remainder of his life. However, what Irma was unaware of was the fact that Hepple would later engage in sexual misconduct with Kirsty, now 52, and Kirsty's minor daughter. Furthermore, Irma, who had dementia, passed away in 2013 at the age of 81. And Kirsty didn't come forward with information about Hepple's abuse of her and her kid until after she passed away. He was later imprisoned for a different crime, but after his release, he attempted to take advantage of Irma's good intentions by moving into the bungalow. She claims that she offered him an alternative place to stay, but he declined. And when he brought the case to Leeds County Court, it ruled in his favor.

More details

Arthur Hepple received a 13-month prison term with a two-year suspension after being charged in 2014 when Kirsty reported the incident to the authorities. He was also added to the list of sex offenders. And after another sexual assault on a woman and her minor daughter three years later, he was sentenced to 27 months in prison. Hepple admitted to two sexual assaults—one on the youngster and one on the woman, at York Crown Court. She claimed that attorneys urged her to refuse to let him into the house and to instead provide him with alternate housing but he rejected it. And in November last year, Hepple brought the case before Leeds County Court and won. To assist Kirsty in raising the funds she requires, her family and friends have set up a GoFundMe campaign. But she stated, "How on earth do you just get your hands on that amount of money?" Lastly, Hepple has not yet moved into the bungalow.
