Electric vehicles are being adopted worldwide at a steady rate. To speed up this transition to renewable energy earlier than the rest of the globe, the European Parliament nevertheless wished to shake things up. Internal combustion engine cars will no longer be sold after 2035, or less than 12 years from today, due to new regulations. It means that dealers and resellers in the European Union will only sell electric vehicles and will no longer provide gas and diesel cars or other fuel sources. The European Parliament has passed a new regulation that would shortly restrict the sale of ICE automobiles by 2035 as part of its "Fit for 55" package, which applies to both passenger cars and light commercial vehicles to cut CO2 emissions. Considering that Europe is one of the largest continents in the world, this is a significant step towards sustainable energy and lowering their carbon footprint. "Intermediate emissions reduction targets for 2030 are set at 55% for vehicles and 50% for vans," the announcement said. According to the reports, this accelerates the European Union's shift to sustainable energy and represents a big shift toward electric vehicles. This implies that all dealers and retailers in the nation will no longer be selling any gas- or diesel-powered vehicles. One of the most powerful countries in the world has already taken major steps to encourage the use of clean energy among its citizens. In the midst of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the EU recently set records for solar and wind energy generation, which reduced its dependency on these nations for clean energy. Electric cars are also very popular in the area, especially because the government strongly encourages the use of these modern clean energy sources. The objective is to produce zero emissions from cars and other businesses that pollute the environment. The EU is now making tremendous progress toward achieving this goal. Despite taking 12 years to complete, it is still a significant step towards lowering carbon emissions, even though other nations are focusing on EV-only goals for the years after 2040.
