Google Requires Android Apps to Improve AI Content Moderation

Google is making new rules for apps on Android phones. These rules are about apps that use AI, which is computer smarts that can make things like chatbots, pictures, and voices. Google wants these apps to be better at stopping bad stuff made by AI. Starting next year, apps with AI content must have a way for users to report bad things. This report button should be easy to use, so users don't have to leave the app. Google's rules cover apps like chatbots, apps that make pictures with AI, and apps that create voices or videos with AI. However, some types of AI apps are not affected by these rules, like those that make summaries of books or apps for work. Google says bad AI content includes fake videos, recordings meant to trick people, false election stuff, apps with sexual content, and harmful code. Google knows that AI is changing fast, so it might change these rules later. Apart from AI rules, Google is also changing the rules about apps that use your pictures and videos. These rules say that apps should not see too much of your stuff. Only some apps will have wide access to your pictures and videos, while others will need your permission to see them.
