Reduce the Length of the ZIP's File Name
Error 0x80010135 issues will usually appear for ZIP archives with lengthy file names. By default, the extracted folder will assume the same name as the ZIP archive. So, try to keep the length of the ZIP file’s name a bit short. Follow the below steps to reduce the length of the ZIP file’s name:- Launch File Explorer and navigate to the folder where the ZIP file you want to extract is located.
- Right-click on the ZIP file to access the context menu and choose the "Rename" option.
- In the provided text field, input a more concise filename for the ZIP archive. Whenever possible, aim to keep the name between five to six characters in length.
Extract the Archive to the Root Directory
The entire extraction path for a ZIP can be too lengthy if it comprises multiple subfolders. Typically, ZIP files are set to extract to their current folder, potentially leading to the problem. Users have reported successfully fixing error 0x80010135 by opting to extract their archives to the primary C: directory instead. This action eliminates any subfolders from the extraction route.
