Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, is certain that the metaverse initiative is the technological forerunner, much to how Facebook transformed the online community.
However, a number of IT authorities have expressed doubt about this effort.
CEO of Snap Evan Spiegel is the most recent among them. As first reported by Interesting Engineering, he disparaged the idea on Wednesday during the Wall Street Journal's Tech Live conference.
Spiegel remarked, to the amusement of the crowd, "The last thing I want to do when I go home at the end of a long day is live inside a computer."
"I'll probably get in jail for saying this, but the video game is poorly made. Are you creating a metaverse that resembles a conference room? I discover that I don't wish to spend the majority of my time there." Head of Microsoft's Xbox division Phil Spencer made a statement at the event as well.
The SVP of worldwide marketing at Apple, Greg Josviak, said he would never use the term "metaverse," and the SVP of software at Apple, Craig Federighi, agreed.
