On Monday, Microsoft disclosed that it was increasing its investment in OpenAI, the business that created the much-discussed ChatGPT chatbot powered by AI. The computing behemoth declined to provide any exact financial information in a statement on its website, describing the action as a "multiyear, multimillion-dollar" investment. However, recent rumors have indicated that Microsoft's investment, which comes after two others in 2019 and 2021, may be worth around $10 billion. Microsoft stated that the assistance will help OpenAI's research and supercomputing efforts and allow the two businesses to "independently market the emerging advanced AI technologies." Additionally, there are plans to integrate new digital experiences based on OpenAI's technology into Microsoft's consumer and business products and to deploy OpenAI models across those products. According to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, "We created our cooperation with OpenAI around a common vision to responsibly promote cutting-edge AI research and democratize AI as a new technology platform." The greatest AI infrastructure, models, and toolchain will be available to developers and businesses across industries to build and run their apps in this new chapter of our relationship, according to Azure. He also stated that his company is "eager to continue our independent research and work toward producing powerful AI that helps everyone." The IT industry has been rocked by OpenAI's ChatGPT software, which is a step up from earlier iterations of chatbots. The AI tool is able to react in text form to human prompts in a way that is both natural and inventive after being trained using enormous amounts of online data and improved with human feedback. However, he added that "many are glossing over the risks that come with such a powerful advancement." However, there are many who don't think highly of ChatGPT, such as Yann LeCun, Meta's head of AI.
