North Korea Completing Its Preparations for Nuclear Test: Update

According to Nikkei Asia, North Korea is currently finalizing preparations for a nuclear weapons test. This requires the excavation of an underground tunnel and the testing of triggering mechanisms. According to The Korea Herald, the North's Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea announced that it would "promptly examine the issue of restarting all temporarily suspended activities" in January. The UNSC Panel of Experts reported movements involving its nuclear and intercontinental ballistic missile tests that have been observed in line with that announcement.
