After a couple of weeks of teasing, OnePlus has launched its second smartwatch and first wearable under the Nord branding, the OnePlus Nord Watch, a year and a half after the original Watch. The device has a 1.78-inch rectangular AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 60Hz and a rated brightness of 500 nits. The IP68-certified chassis, according to OnePlus, is waterproof and weatherproof. The straps are made of breathable materials and are carried over from the OnePlus Watch. oneplus nord watch The watch includes a 3-axis accelerometer, heart-rate scanner, and SpO2 sensor for health tracking. One reason for the watch's long battery life is that it does not use Wear OS, but rather an RTOS. So, while there are numerous watch faces to choose from, there are no third-party apps to install and experiment with. OnePlus claims there are over 100 watch faces available, but you can only access five of them directly from the wearable at any given time. You must use the companion app on your smartphone for the rest. The OnePlus Nord Watch comes in Midnight Black and Deep Blue. It is compatible with phones running Android 6.0+ and iPhones running iOS 11 or later. Unlike its first smartwatch, which was available in the United States, OnePlus is only releasing the Nord Watch in India, where it will cost Rs 5,000 ($68).
