Roku may have its eyes set on the smart home

Reportedly, Roku will soon make a significant entry into the smart home market. A smart light strip, a smart plug, white and color smart bulbs, as well as indoor and outdoor internet-connected security cameras, are purportedly included in the unannounced portfolio. Additionally, it looks like Roku intends to introduce a special Roku Smart Home channel that would enable users to manage their devices from streaming devices and smart TVs running the company's software. Roku seems to be depending on Wyze, a manufacturer of smart home products, to actually produce this hardware before applying Roku branding to the boxes, as ZatzNotFunny and other Reddit readers have noted. Even while it is best known for its low-cost streaming boxes, Roku has recently added soundbars, speakers, and even a subwoofer to its hardware lineup.  In order to supply televisions with its streaming platform integrated, it has also teamed with a number of TV manufacturers.  Also Read: Sonos Sub Mini Costs Three Times More than Roku’s Wireless Bass Subwoofer However, historically, Roku's hardware has at least remotely impacted television viewing, typically by enhancing sound quality. As of right now, none of these products have a price or a release date.  However, given that a user on Reddit was able to take a picture of a huge stack of retail boxes, we assume an official announcement might not be too long off.
