Werner, William Modern computers make almost no noise. Computers, however, used to be incredibly loud. It sounded like a spaceship was being launched when a computer was turned on because of the CRT monitor, fan noises, and the hard drive clicking. It is assumed that most people would like to live without a noisy computer. The HDD Clicker 2 is available for people who enjoy the tinny cacophony. Matthias Werner designed a tiny circuit that emits loud noises in today's
SSD equipped PC.
It's surprisingly easy to use the HDD Clicker 2.0. However, this device allows for a direct connection to the motherboard. The MiniMolex connector provides electricity to the device. An ATTiny microcontroller monitors SSD activity. When your SSD writes or accesses data, a piezoelectric speaker emits a "hard drive sound.
Additionally, a tiny LED on the HDD Clicker 2.0 flickers whenever your SSD accesses data. The challenging drive activity indicator in older PCs is typically a small LED. They have access to this feature. Some users upgrade or repurpose old towers from their earlier PCs for new computers.
