Tecno Phantom X2 Pro breakdown: inside look at the retractable zoom lens

Tecno's first Android smartphone featuring a mechanical telephoto lens for a 50MP camera is the Phantom X2 Pro. The "novel" function is also the focus of a recent YouTube video that investigates whether or not the new camera hardware on the Dimensity 9000-powered device affects its ability to be repaired if necessary. The Phantom X2 Pro from Tecno is the first (or at least most current) smartphone with a retractable lens. One of the device's dual 50MP cameras is the advanced camera, which may be used for things like portrait photography. However, compared to a "typical" smartphone, the unusually active lens does not appear to obstruct a teardown, as discovered by the YouTuber PBKReviews. The new recycled plastic rear cover from Tecno can be removed and it will still function. In light of this, it appears from this video that the smooth, stepless zooming motions one might anticipate from a DSLR or mirrorless camera are beyond this mobile version of the X2 Pro's retractable lens, which is captured extending and retracting with audible small snaps. However, it is displayed on the same board as the other smartphone cameras, indicating that it can be changed if necessary. The remainder of its internals, including a vapor chamber and "plenty of thermal paste" for its Dimensity 9000 SoC, could also be seen by PBKReviews. Otherwise, the Phantom-series flagship can be disassembled all the way down to its display, indicating that the X2 Pro's display can also be replaced if necessary. Additionally, the battery removal process might have been made simpler. Also read: The Tecno Phantom X2 Pro: now available on Amazon.in
