The Best Free Password Manager Might Be Dashlane

Dashlane has just revamped both its free and subscription plans and perhaps put itself on the top of the free password manager pile in doing so. With the average person having many online accounts, a password manager is nearly a requirement. The company’s free service formerly allowed customers to manage up to 50 passwords and share them between five accounts. The company now provides users unlimited password management and sharing, along with a “secure notes” tool, without charging a thing. Other important features free accounts have access to include: form and payment autofill, a 2FA mechanism, and a “password health score” that will signal your lack of inventiveness and unwillingness to utilize special characters. A subscription to the “friends and family” plan will still set you back $89.88 a year, but for that money, you get up to 10 accounts and a wide range of benefits. Alongside everything, the free plan contains, premium users will have VPN access, “encrypted file storage,” and a security alerts system that warns them when their data is hacked. If you don’t need a family plan, but would prefer a handful of extra features, Dashlane has also released a new service priced at $2.75 per month. The “Dashlane Advanced” package adds unlimited device access and dark web monitoring for up to five email addresses to the normal list of capabilities. It’s quite easy to argue that Dashlane is an obvious selection over famous password managers like LastPass — which basically did the opposite of what Dashlane have done a few years back.
