Instagram is struggling with its identity. And since it hasn't been itself for years, everyone is getting annoyed by it. Currently, Instagram offers a poor user experience, with intrusive advertisements and irrelevant Reels from creators you might not care to know about. (A major issue at the moment is how rarely followers of artists ever appear in feeds. You have to look for them if you want to see their posts.) However, the OG App can be pretty handy in overcoming such issues.
All you need to know about the OG App
The OG App is the first software that truly provides a valuable third-party Instagram experience while seeking to address those issues. Unfortunately, however, it's only presently accessible via Android. It was initially accessible on iOS, but Apple withdrew the app, and the reason for that is still unclear.
Furthermore, the OG App is far superior to the Instagram app (or the web version) because it takes the content and builds your feed from the ground up.
Therefore, when using the OG App, you receive your standard feed, Stories, DMs, and comments. And although it has the same interface as the Instagram app, it is free of adverts, suggested posts, and Reels infestation.
Moreover, videos can be viewed by going to the specific Reels tab, but they only appear there when you want them to. Even better, you may completely turn off Reels and the Explore page by going to Settings.
Additionally, the OG App may construct several lists with various public profiles (similar to Twitter lists). Thus, you can make many lists to follow creators in various niches, including coffee, technology, typography, design, and more. Once you build that list, the app then creates a specific feed for those accounts.
All in all, you might like Instagram a little more after using all these features. So, is the OG App sufficient enough for you to enjoy using Instagram again? You better use it and find out before reaching your verdict.
