(Image credit- The Telegraph) According to CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Meta's recently released text-based software, Threads, has taken the internet by storm, gaining an astounding 10 million new users in just seven hours. Threads has reached global access outside of Europe at record speed, as opposed to Threads' Twitter rival Bluesky, which continues to rely on invite codes, as per reports.

Whooping 10 Million Signups in Just 7 Hours

With the announcement of "10 million signups in seven hours" on the Threads platform, Zuckerberg broke his ten-year Twitter slumber and posted a vintage Spider-Man standoff image to mark this great accomplishment. Their goal is to combine Threads with ActivityPub, the source protocol that powers Mastodon and other decentralized services commonly referred to as the "Fediverse." Since they both use the same platform, Threads, and Instagram have a close relationship that gives Meta an edge when promoting the new app. When Threads was released, users who had pre-ordered it on iOS received push alerts, which increased the already impressive number of signups. It turned out to be a fortunate decision on the part of Meta to release Threads earlier than expected, allowing enthusiastic users to sample its offerings earlier than anticipated. As a timely substitute, Threads offers a platform that blends textual and media information, similar to Instagram aesthetics.   [caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="1600"]Threads: What to Know About Instagram's 'Twitter Killer' App - The New York Times Image credit- The New York Times[/caption]

Available for Download

Users looking for a unique digital experience have been embracing Threads since it became available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Users have expressed appreciation for the surprise early release. Content producers have already established themselves on the Meta platform through the success of Thread posts. Users are drawn to Threads because it offers a fresh platform for communication and connection online. Unlike tweets on Twitter, thread posts are accessible via online connections to external websites. Users must use caution, though, as not all links may be reliable. Some could lead to phishing or clickbait attempts. A humorous meme hailing Threads as the favored venue for the online community while representing the metaphorical death of Twitter has already surfaced. The speed with which Meta attracted millions of users demonstrates its dominance in the digital space and makes Threads a strong competitor among text-based networks.
