This system is undergoing testing but will soon be deployed across all business accounts. To attain verification, businesses must furnish evidence of their identity and legitimacy. Once verified, businesses will receive a verified account badge, which will be prominently displayed next to their name in WhatsApp chats. Complementing the account verification system, Meta is introducing several other features for business accounts, including the ability to create customized WhatsApp pages, multi-device support, and a novel feature called Flows. Flows represents a significant addition, allowing businesses to expand the range of services they offer to customers without leaving the WhatsApp chat interface. For instance, businesses can employ Flows to construct menus showcasing their products and services or facilitate customer activities like appointment scheduling or ordering deliveries. Meta is also contemplating the introduction of paid verification badges for WhatsApp business accounts, akin to the paid verification badges present on Facebook and Instagram. However, a final decision on this matter is still pending. These new security measures, especially the account verification system, address pressing issues of fraud and impersonation prevalent across numerous online platforms, including WhatsApp. These measures promise to enhance the safety and security of the WhatsApp Business platform for both businesses and their customers. Furthermore, the introduced features, such as the ability to create personalized WhatsApp pages, support for multiple devices, and the innovative Flows functionality, will significantly contribute to an improved customer experience for businesses. It will empower users to discern genuine businesses from impostors and present a formidable barrier against scammers impersonating businesses. While the verification process is likely to be rigorous, ensuring that only legitimate businesses achieve verification is paramount. Meta should also consider offering the verification process free of charge to provide equal opportunity for all businesses to attain verification. This feature will enable businesses to create a more professional and informative presence on WhatsApp, simplifying the process for customers to discover and learn about businesses on the platform. Support for Multiple Devices Support for multiple devices is another beneficial feature for business accounts. This functionality will enable businesses to manage their WhatsApp Business accounts from various devices, including laptops, tablets, and smartphones, facilitating responsiveness and customer support even when away from a primary workstation. Flows  Flows will enable users to make purchases directly within a WhatsApp chat, such as buying train tickets or meals. Businesses can provide menus or forms for users to conveniently navigate and complete purchases. Initially, this feature will be introduced in India, allowing users to add items to their cart and utilize various payment methods like debit cards, credit cards, and UPI, among others. WhatsApp has partnered with Razorpay and PayU to bring this functionality to life.
