Is it simply porn interfering with our sexual lives, or is it the entire digital environment? I started thinking about this while I was on a date with a guy who was in the middle of a significant business transaction. He would have to pause every time we started talking to answer right away to an urgent email. It's safe to say that it ruined the atmosphere! I've therefore made the decision to introduce a new rule into my love/sex life: I'm going to perform a digital detox during the initial phases of a new relationship. You ask what a digital detox is. It's a set period of time during which someone abstains from using electronics like smartphones. Even so, I'm going a step further. Because there's always that slight uneasiness you feel when you see your love/lust interest out and about with someone, whether it's a sibling or date, I won't follow them on any social media for at least a month.
